Week 9 Lineup Review
A review of the week nine cash lineup
I really wanted to get to Mahomes and some Chiefs/Bills action for the main lineup. But I didn’t do it. I decided to lean into the projections and play it pretty cost-sensitive. That proved to be the right move. I ended up with this:
Ran pretty hot, getting touchdowns from Theo Johnson and Olamide Zaccheaus. Always nice to splash 12 points from touchdowns from your two “punt” plays. That gave me the value we needed and got me onto the big CMC game as well as locking in the very high floors of Nacua and Chase. Neither of those two did anything close to what they’re capable of, but it’s tough to complain about 43 points from two plays in cash.
I guess I’m surprised by how highly that score placed this week. It doesn’t seem like all that great of a lineup, but I took home 85% of head-to-heads. I guess just putting that particular combination together worked. It was a very chalky lineup. I had each of the seven top-owned players (this ownership from the giant $2 double up):
Was it simply enough to avoid the mini-bust from Rashee Rice and the big-time bust from Kimani Vidal at 14%?
There was a seven-point difference from the Falcons D to the Giants D; those were the two most popular.
That helped, I suppose. The 38% of lineups that didn’t play Jaxson Dart were playing from behind (unless they had Caleb Williams instead).
I guess it was key to have both Chase and Puka even without a massive game from either guy. There were some landmines at the WR position in DK Metcalf and Ladd McConkey.
But yeah, I guess the key was the pretty lucky value touchdowns from Zaccheaus and Johnson as well as spending up for the big three in CMC/Chase/Nacua. It proves that you don’t always need the ceiling game at the high price ranges to win some money playing DFS cash.
Feels good to get back in the positives after two losing weeks. A big +86% this week. On we go to week ten!
